Click on each section below to learn a little about each member of the family. This will give you a small picture of our
heritage, values, morals and beliefs.
I came up with the idea for a family web site several years ago. In fact, I've been messing with web pages since the time when messing with
web pages was not really that cool. I had to crawl through the depths of the math/science building at
Georgia Perimeter College and then fill out a bunch of
forms just to get my first email address as a student. My how times have progressed. That was back in the early 90's. A lot has changed since then.
I am a graduate of the
University of Georgia
from the
School of Computer Science. I am a born again Christian and believe
in Jesus Christ and the power of His blood to forgive my sins and grant me eternal life with God the Father in Heaven.
I am a senior developer at
Crown Financial Ministries in Gainesville, GA. I started working with Crown in April of 2008. In doing so I was able to achieve a career goal of mine to
be able to utilize my passion for software development in a Christian environment. I feel truly blessed to have been able to find my present opportunity with Crown so early in my career and look forward to being able to utilize technology to
assist in teaching people God's principles in financial management from making money and then managing it according to God's Word in order to fulfill His commandments.
Outside of work, I am a student of the arts. I enjoy musical theatre, drama and the art of photography. I have had the opportunity to see many Broadway touring productions and have seen a couple of
shows in New York on Broadway.
I'm excited about the prospect of a newly organized local theatre group called
Fifth Row Center. They look to be a
fun group bringing theatre to the community.
I have recently gotten serious about the art of photography. I purchased my first Digital SLR camera and have started trying to learn the finer points of the art. You can see some of my photography in
the pictures section of this site. Although, most of what you'll see is just candid shapshots of family events and vacations. Contact me if you're interestedin seeing some of my more serious photography.
I am proud of my immediate and extended family and thankful that I am a Meadows.
I met my husband, Chris in 1996 at Middle Georgia College. It was my first year, Chris' second year. After Chris' two years were up, I decided that he was not going to leave me down there while he went to the University of Georgia. We say that the only reason I went to Middle Georgia was to meet Chris.
I left with him, but I went back to live with my parents while I attended Georgia Perimeter Collegeege. I went there for a year and then I moved up to Athens to be closer to Chris. I attended Truett McConnell College in Watkinsville, Ga and recieved my Associates Degree there.
Chris and I dated for about two years and then he proposed to me in September at Red Lobster in Athens, Ga. We got married the following August. We got engaged, graduated from college, built a house and got married all within the span of less than a year. We just decided to do everything at once. What an exciting time it was and even more exciting now. With our two kids, there are no dull moments around our house.
I am a born again Christian. Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life and of my family. He has blessed me beyond my imagination. I strive to be the best Godly wife and mother that God expects me to be. I use Proverbs 31:10-31 as a guide on how to be the best Godly wife and mother. A beautiful passage of scripture.
I really enjoy listening to Christian music because it is so inspirational.
My favorite Bible verse is Phillipians 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
I stay home with my kids during the summer but return to work each August as a pre-school teacher.
I mostly enjoy spending time with my husband and our children. I also enjoy Broadway. We have seen many Broadway shows. We had the great privilege of going to New York City to see a couple of shows. Also while in New York we had dinner at my favorite Food Network Chef, Bobby Flay's restaraunt Bar American. This was a birthday gift to me from Chris. It was truly a dream come true trip.
The place I like to be the most is where my husband and children are. If I am with them then I couldn't be happier.
Hey, I'm the next generation of The Meadows Family! I'm currently in pre-school and love to learn new things.
In addition to school, I am a student of Karate. I am so excited in that I recently received an invitation from
my Dojo to start studying for my Black Belt. My daddy tells me this
is quite an honor and one I should take very serious. Of course I will because I want to be the best I can be, especially when it comes to Karate.
I've already used my training in a couple of instances. No, I didn't beat anybody up. The Martial Arts are more than throwing punches or performing high kicks. It involves
an intense study of personal discipline and patience. I have used my training to walk away from trouble in the past. Though, the trouble did continue to follow me. I am taught to walk away from it but if trouble continues then to confront it and that's what I did. Let's just say the person that was causing me the trouble left
me alone after I addressed the issue.
I am also a huge fan of
NASCAR racing. I have several drivers that I like, among them all of
Joe Gibbs drivers. I like Joe Gibbs because he
is an outstanding Christian leader.
Despite what everybody else believes in my family, I RUN THE SHOW! I am Benjamin's little sister and he takes good care of me. I'm also in pre-school and love to learn new things, too!
I am the princess and everybody does what I tell them to do. One day I will be a ballerina. I'm already practicing on my own now and will be a star one day.
I complete this family as the dog. I think I'm a
Scottish Terrier. Though I'm not too sure though because I'm bigger than a scotty. I think there is another
type of terrier mixed in me. I am a rescue dog from the
Gwinnett County Rescue Shelter. I've been in this family
almost as long as it's been together so I'm an old timer. I think I'm about 7 years old but still love to play.
